Keeping the tradition going

I was delighted to watch boys from Chirunga School practice their traditional dancing and drumming in front of their admiring peers.

Tomorrow they are joining other schools from around the area for a celebration of traditional music and dance.

I am gutted that I can’t be there to watch.

Drumming, singing and dancing seem to be part of a skillset that everybody has, no matter what the occasion the Malawians sing and dance and I haven’t yet heard an out of tune voice or seen someone dancing without rhythm.
