Washing day

I was at a school this morning for a meeting with headteachers and being a Saturday there weren't too many children around but many of their mothers were there. Most schools have a borehole and a she picture shows the women were making the most of that facility to get their washing done.

A few random thoughts came to mind

- isn't it great that whatever facilities are around are shared

- what a lot of hard work these women do

- the chatter of the women as they scrubbed their clothes showed this regular washing event to be a sociable activity as they met with their friends
